To support independently conceived or designed research, or senior design projects by graduate students, in disciplines that will help advance missions and goals of NASA; thus, providing an opportunity to directly contribute to advancements in STEM-related areas of study. NASA fellowship opportunities are focused on innovation through projects that will generate measurable results or advancements in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math which will contribute to NASA’s current and future science and technology goals.

Curriculum Development (CD) Focus:  The primary focus is to establish new and/or revised courses and materials that infuse NASA-related content within NSHE institutional curricula. We plan to support projects that include development of interdisciplinary classes utilizing or implementing NASA mission directorate content as well as senior design courses and senior research projects.

Hands-On-Training (HOT) Focus:  The primary focus of this program is to firmly establish new STEM hands-on-training activities that utilize NASA related interdisciplinary content within higher education curricula.  Proposals should include authentic, hands-on student activities in NASA-related STEM disciplines.

The NVSGC seeks tThe Nevada Space Grant Consortium (NVSGC) seeks to develop a diverse and capable Nevada STEM workforce by providing funds for NASA-related faculty research projects. Selected faculty research projects will provide authentic “hands-on” research opportunities for students in topic areas such as:  unmanned aerial systems, aeronautics (including high altitude balloon projects), planetary geology, astrochemistry, astrophysics, astrobiology, biodiversity/biology, new satellite data systems, remote sensing, sustainability, agricultural science, climate change, hydrological impacts under a changing climate, and STEM education.

The Nevada NASA Space Grant Consortium (NVSGC) announces available funding for the 2018-2019 Undergraduate Scholarship Program. This opportunity is designed to support independently conceived research or hands-on-projects by NSHE undergraduate students in disciplines that will help advance the missions and goals of NASA. Scholarship projects should generate measurable results or advancements in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) research that are relevant to NASA’s science and technology goals.

 The primary focus of this program is to firmly establish new or continuing STEM hands-on-training activities that utilize NASA related interdisciplinary content for higher education and/or pre-college students. Proposals should include authentic, hands-on student activities in NASA-related STEM disciplines.  Examples of topic areas that are being targeted include but are not limited to: NASA Challenges, space/planetary exploration, aeronautical engineering, off-grid habitation and utilization of NASA-specific assets (e.g., satellite data) for climate change evaluation and adaption topics and other NASA relevant topics.  Proposals may include the development of teams to compete in science and engineering challenges relevant to NASA.
