DOE EPSCoR is a federal-state partnership program designed to help the Department meet the nation’s energy needs through increased competition in energy-related research. The mission of DOE EPSCoR is to support basic research activities spanning the broad range of science and technology programs within DOE and to increase the number of scientists and engineers in energy-related areas.
Currently, NSHE administers Investigations of the Fundamental Surface Reactions Involved in the Sorption and Desorption of Radionuclides. Project collaborators from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies, the Desert Research Institute, and University of Nevada, Reno provide research to enhance the basic scientific understanding of contaminant behavior on surfaces with significant implications to the management of DOE sites.
